Kayla MclLwain
Kayla’s approach to therapy is collaborative and supportive. She focuses on meeting her clients where they are and providing them with the applicable tools and awareness for growth and healing. As a School Counselor for seven years the experience she gained helping children, teens and families has prepared her to become a therapist. She uses an approach that fit her client’s needs such as Experiential Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt and Soul Healing Love.
Kayla earned her Master’s degree in School Counseling at Winthrop University in 2018 and her Bachelor’s in Human Development and Family Studies at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2016. Kayla is a graduate student at Pfeiffer University, and will complete her degree in Marriage and Family Therapy there in May 2025.
Kayla has experience interning and working in clinical and school settings and gaining experience in counseling children, adolescents, couples, families, and group therapy on issues such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, school performance, suicidality, emotional regulation, communication Issues, relationship issues and more. She is excited to be at Rodgers to continue making an impact and showing her clients that God is always there for them and will continue to be there for them on their healing journey.
