Alexa Little
Alexa has a passion for empowering her clients in their discovery of finding out who God created them to be. She believes when a person can learn to accept and apply their true authentic self, it not only allows them to live a more congruent and fulfilling life, but it also enables stronger relationships with others and with God. Alexa prides herself on her ability to connect with her clients and creates an environment that feels safe and secure enough to do the hard work that is required for personal growth. She believes therapy is a shared experience, where she accompanies you on your journey of self-exploration, growth, and healing. Alexa utilizes an eclectic approach to therapy with foundational underpinnings of Experiential Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy. She also is trained in, and utilizes the Soul Healing Love model as well as Prepare/Enrich.
Alexa enjoys working with individuals, couples (both premarital and marital), and families. She has experience working with childhood sexual abuse, sex-trafficking victims, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Depression, Anxiety, various physical and emotional trauma, marital conflict, couples communication issues, identity issues, Personality Disorders, grief and loss, and self-esteem concerns.
Alexa earned her M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy at Pfeiffer University in 2019 and her B.A. in Psychology, with a minor in Child and Family Development from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2016. While earning her Master’s degree, Alexa conducted a Couples Enrichment Workshop designed to help couples enhance their relationship by learning effective communication skills, intimacy building skills, and conflict resolution skills. Alexa has experience working in a clinical practice setting, and also in a hospital setting. She interned at Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center in the trauma unit. During her time at Atrium Health, she was able to work with patients and their families during one of the most challenging times in their lives. Working with these clients brought her a unique understanding of the healing power of Christ, family support, and therapeutic connection. Her style of therapy is tailored to each client’s individual needs, while maintaining a strong therapeutic relationship and a collaborative approach to meeting the client’s goals.
