Roberta recently completed Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regent University and is a Licensed Professional Counseling Associate in North Carolina. She also has undergraduate degrees from Gardner-Webb University in Communications and English. She has 10 years of experience teaching middle and high school students and is a Licensed Educator in North and South Carolina. Roberta has also completed over 1200 hours of counseling with Methodist Counseling and Mental Health America in Cleveland and Lincoln Counties where she worked with children, teens, couples, families, men’s and women’s issues, and various groups. She has experience in treating PTSD & Trauma, Sexual assault and abuse, Self Injury, Depression, Anxiety, Life Transitions, Grief & loss, Family conflict, Relationship issues, and Addictions.
Roberta believes that healing and wholeness are possible for every person, regardless of the trials and traumas they face. As a high school English teacher and journalist, she enjoys helping clients tell and revise their life stories based on healthy goals, God’s unique callings on their life and the gifts instilled in them by the Creator. Assisting clients during and after painful and challenging life events, and encouraging them to identify and test beliefs and patterns of behavior is her passion. She has training in Person Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral and Trauma Based Cognitive Therapy, EMDR and is being trained in the transformative and restorative power of Soul Healing Love and its practices.
